It could be a note about making a phone call or a file folder containing everything you need to start writing a report, or a stack of material you have been meaning to file. 2. According to Bruhn and Guthrie (1994), a Learning Guide is a 'structured booklet designed to direct the learner through a series of learning activities and to a range of resources to achieve specified competencies or learning outcomes".A learning guide is not a 'how to' manual like manuals that accompany television sets, microwaves and computers etc, but they may be used in conjunction with them. The key focus of learning guides (hereafter 'guides') is that they guide users through a structured learning experience. Manuals don't do that, they simply provide a number of activities users can follow to get certain outcomes. An example will highlight the difference.Example:On one occasion I used guides to cover a half dozen or so small topics that were important, but which did not war Or alternatively: Recruiters don't find jobs for people; they find people for jobs. But your becoming an effective manager and leader over any period of time will not be based primarily on your popularity. Instead, it will depend on the respect followers have for you and their feeling they can trust you to do the right things at the right time. Many people who want to be leaders do not understand these fundamental truths. Therefore, they misspend their energies scurrying here and there, agreeing with everyone, and being a fun-buddy to one and all. They make decisions to curry favor among their associates instead of for the good of the enterprise.Leaders Can't Agree With EveryoneBut it is not possible to exert effective leadership while agreeing with ev The only real way you are going to get any recruiters' attention is if - based on timing - you happen to align with the requirements of a position they are trying to fill. Hey - just ask yourself, when doing whatever it is that you do for a living - which is more productive - wasting time talking to an unsolicited call from someone trying to sell you something you don't need, or focusing on doing what you are paid to do?You need to know what stands behind your brand. If it is your own manufactured product, then you need to know that the parts you purchase are also of quality. You have heard the saying that you are only as strong as the weakest link. This means, it only takes one part to weaken the quality and performance of your product. Price almost always comes into play when purchasing parts because this is what drives the final price of the product. Price should not be the only factor; you need to know the quality of materials and how those materials perform over time. If you are manufacturing blankets, you will want to know that the wool has been treated appropriately and that the dyes you use will not run and create problems for consumers. Many factories in other countries have a reputation of not putting quality into their products and they sell very cheaply on the market. This is not always the case; some products are of an extremely high quality, look at the Japanes Reality check #1: Recruiters are some of the busiest people on the planet. Good ones are also some of the hardest working 24X7 dedicated people you will ever meet. Many recruiters regularly work 12-hour days 6 days a week or more. Why? Again, because timing is everything on the candidate side as well as on the opportunity side, and time kills all deals. It is also a bandwidth issue in that - the faster a recruiter can fill a search - the more searches they can do in a year - the more income they generate from - clients - that pay them (i.e., not candidates) to conduct searches. My phone rings at least once every 10 minutes. Many recruiters don't even answer the phone if it isn't a scheduled call. My executive assistant used to yell at me - "Stop answering your phone. Let me do that." Sounds kind of strange why an executive recruiter wouldn't answer their phone right? Well it isn't. Why? Because, they'd never get anything done, if they had a 15-minute conversation with every unsolicited candidate who called to discuss their job search campaign every 10 minutes. It is just an unfortunate reality that many unsolicited candidates never receive a return phone call or an email acknowledging a resume submission or attempt at communication with a recruiter. Don't take it personally. Reality check #2: Most of us are busy right?
