    Inferior Foods Reign Supreme
Whole foods are the most sensible choices when it comes to putting nutritional value on our plate. So why would we pile on anything less? It's a simple matter of economics. A multi-billion dollar's worth, to be exact.Refined foods are big industry, and draw enormous profit. When industries are accustomed to bringing in big profits, they do what any industry would do: protect those profits at all costs. In addition, these profits bring power, and information can be put forth, covered over, or otherwise manipulated to protect that power.Does this sound paranoid?Think about it: big industry can invest big money. In this case, the refined foods industry can fund a great deal of research. Anything that is found that could reduce sales and profits is certainly not going to be broadcast to the general public! There is a counter-balance to this conglomerate, in the form of a much smaller, but very valuable, independent research contingent. Their voices strive to broadcast the message that through their research, they have found that the increase in disease and obesity has a direct correlation with the increased consumption of nutritionally inferior products. These products are put out by the refined foods industry, in the form of overly processed, nutritionally substandard food. They are "quick and easy", and have been stripped of their essential nutrients. The shortage of nutrients in our daily diet leads to multiple deficiencies, the severity of which is determined by our overall diet. The very vitamins and minerals that are bodies require in order to fight off illness are discarded in the processing phase. The good news is that as long as the deficiency hasn't caused lasting damage, it can be reversed as soon as we begin to incorporate those nutrients back into our diets in the form of whole foods nutrition. There is already a push to limit the amount of advertising that the refined foods can do, similar to what has been done in the tobacco industry. Most reprehensible has been the amount of advertising that has been directed at children during commercials between cartoons. Characters are created for the purposes of the advertising, and these foods seem like "friends" to the young mind,

Competing in the Global Economy: The Worker
The last fifty years have seen tremendous prosperity in the United States. This prosperity has not only been experienced by the baby boomers who were born after World War II, but also by the generations that have followed. If there has been so much prosperity, why have so many people lost jobs in various industries since the 1960s? First the steel industry followed by manufacturing was hit as jobs began to move from the historically industrial regions to lower cost regions and then to outside the U.S. Following the break-up of the Bell Systems on January 1, 1984, telecommunications changed forever and continues to change. While some jobs were created, many jobs were lost forever. The build-up of the internet and the dotcom revolution was followed by the dotcom bust and again many jobs were lost. More recently, the airline industry has been hit hard with bankruptcies, jobs losses and reduced pay and benefits for the remaining employees. Is any industry immune to massive jobs losses, bankruptcies, loss of benefits and reduced pay for employees who remain? In simple terms the answer is “no”.The farmers became the factory workers who morphed into the white and blue collar workers who in turn became the information workers. While there are plenty of products you and I need every day: cars, shirts, food, gasoline, computers, light bulbs, desks – the list is literally endless – most are made, assembled or processed outside of the U.S. They are sold here. We buy them here with our hard earned dollars but someone else, who generally makes much less than you or I and who either has no benefits or has their benefits provided by their government does all the work to make the products we enjoy every day. Think about it. Am I saying “buy American”? No. Am I saying that employment and economies are global and very much in the midst of flux right now? Yes!So, what can you do?- Whatever field you are in, stay on top of the latest technology. If your employer does not pay for it, do it on your own.- Develop a professional network. Not just in your current field and not just in your local area. Be active with your network.- Build you own business. If you work for someone else, development you own business in whateve
The majority of school shootings have taken place during William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and George W. Bush’s reign. Precisely forty out of forty two shootings. Since its inception, America has always had guns and schools coexisting at about the same time. Yet amazingly forty shootings have taken place during their presidency! Consider also that these forty shootings took place during a period when the number of gun laws and restrictions was growing! At least during the Clinton regime. Further, it is of course a given that no one has ever cared more about ending school violence and taking away guns then these presidents have. Nor has anyone else worked harder than they have toward this end.

Note that I am only including intentional shootings, not accidental gun discharges. Nor am I counting the incidents of carnage involving the use of a car (as in California in 1999) or any other type of instrument. The list of school shootings during the reign of Clinton is as follows:

February 9, 1992. Stockton, California, high school, 2 dead.

May 1, 1992. Brooklyn, New York, high school, 4 dead, 9 wounded.

January 12, 1993. Miami, Florida, high school, 1 dead.

January 18, 1993. Grayson, Kentucky, high school, 2 dead.

March 25, 1993. St. Louis, Missouri, high school, 1 wounded.

May 24, 1993. Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, high school, 1 dead.

April 8, 1994. Maryland high school, 1 wounded.

February 2, 1996. Moses Lake, Washington, junior high school, 3 dead,1 wounded.

April 15,1996. Washington, District of Columbia, high school, 1 wounded.

Best Investment Opportunities: How to Spot One
Maybe you’re new to the world of investment and you’re doing your best to find opportunities which will pay off well, or perhaps you have tried investing in different ways along the years, and you’d like to expand your existing portfolio with some new investments. On the other hand, maybe you’re simply interested in finding out more information on investing, so that you can decide whether it suits you.No matter your reasons for wanting to know more about the best investment opportunities, you’re likely to succeed in your quest if you learn how to spot them.Go to Reliable SourcesOnce you decide to look for an investment opportunity, you must know where exactly to look for the information you need. In general, try to avoid sources which don’t look professional or which claim to have “infallible investment tips” or “secret information.” Besides the fact that the respective information is surely questionable, those websites or magazines also face legal risks regarding the diffusion of information which is not meant to be available publicly. Instead, you will find the best investments opportunities by looking at reputable and trusted financial publications or websites. You will find out what you need from the financial sections of online portals such as MSN or Yahoo!, or newspapers such as The Financial Times. You can also check the websites of brokerage firms and financial institutions which deal with the type of investment you intend to make.Track the StocksThe majority of financial sites provide their users with free investment and stock tracking services, which will allow you to stay up to date with the most recent fluctuations in stock or other investments. This way not only will you be informed on the current prices of the investments, but this will also enable you to consult the track record of the stock or investment for a certain period of time, from the past month to even five years or more. Moreover, once you sign up with an investment and stock tracking service, you can also receive the latest changes in the stocks you’re interested in by means of e-mail or through your PDA, which means that you will be able to keep track of the best investment opportunities on the market.<

History of the Computer - Electrostatic Damage
THE PROBLEMYou landed after a rough flight, got the last rental car, battled the snowstorm, and finally arrived at the Holly Inn. It's nice and warm in there, you can relax, ready for the conference tomorrow.Out of the elevator, of course your room is at the far end of the corridor. No matter, the heating is turned up and you are looking forward to a good night's rest. You make it to the room door feeling very sleepy. You reach out for the door handle when...Zap! It gets you every time!THE CAUSEStatic electricity. Everyone knows about it, harmless really, happens when you get out of the car as well. Synthetics are particularly good for generating a good one, along with a dry atmosphere.Thousands of volts - harmless? just a little shock? To you, maybe, to an electronic circuit static discharge is - death. Not necessarily instant, more likely a weakening effect, causing intermittent failures, the most difficult to catch, until the final solid fault.THE EFFECTThe problem for an electronic circuit is that they work on 2 or 3 volts at low currents, so when a kilovolt charge turns up, the current which flows is many times more than it is designed for. The effect can be like a fuse, a connection to a microcircuit melts, or is badly damaged. For us there is millions of times less current than would be required to damage any tissue. The voltage doesn't need to be enough to cause a zap, an electronic circuit can be damaged by just handling it, touching metal parts. The potential for damage has been growing since transistors, and, particularly integrated circuits were introduced. Vacuum tube circuits used much higher voltages, such that the circuit was more likely to zap the careless technician than the other way round!THE SOLUTIONWe have mentioned, in the history of the computer series, the importance of power supplies and air conditioning controls. These are largely there to make sure the electronics can work in its designed range. When the engineer works on these circuits he must take precautions to ensure this range is not exceeded because of static build-up.In the workshop, all work must be performed in a static free environ

    Produce--Reuse--Recycle
Since Earth Day has just come and gone, I thought it would be a good time to share with those online marketers and infopreneurs out there how to really profit from the Reduce-Reuse-Recycle mantra. I call it Produce-Reuse-Recycle, and it goes a little something like this:ProduceProduce your own information products. They can be ebooks, articles, autoresponder email courses, or teleseminars. Creating your own product puts you in control, and allows you to share your passion about the subject with your audience. It also puts you in the role of the Expert, a trusted advisor who knows the subject your audience is paying good money to learn about inside and out.ReuseOnce you've created it, continue to put your stuff out there and keep promoting it. Every time someone new comes along, invite them to join your email list by giving them one of these products you've created.RecycleThis is sort of the same as the Reuse element above, but different. When we're talking about recycling in this case, we are turning something meant for one use into something else meant for another. Here's how it works:You can turn a group of related articles into an ebook. You can record an ebook or article as a recorded teleseminar you can give away or sell. You can turn that autoresponder course into an ebook or teleseminar series.See how this works?By Producing, Reusing, and Recycling, you are saving time and energy on your product creation. That way, you don't have to reinvent the wheel every time you need to roll out another product. Just make sure your list is large enough that any particular group isn't seeing the same information all the time, and don't give it to your list as an article, then turn around and try to sell it to them in an ebook, unless maybe it's only one small part they've seen before in a sea of new material. There you have it, a way to profit from your information products, without having to go back to the well every single time you need another money-making product.

Do the Masses Really Care About the Environment and Sustainability
Online Think Tanks discuss a variety of information and ponder all the issues, which plague mankind. One recent topic was a question about our Planet’s environment. And the question goes something like this; Do the Masses Really Care About the Environment and Sustainability?Do you really believe that the masses care about ecological or environmental sustainability and viability? Well do you? Would you just look at these human locusts? Are you a pilot; I am? Go up and fly around sometime and take a trip by air in a light aircraft on a long-cross country flight; 300 miles on a side anywhere in this nation or any nation for that matter and look down and see these rats (humans) and how they live? They have no sense of community or oneness with nature and as the social trends continue they are much happier just to tell everyone else what to do, rather than clean up their own backyards or look into their own mirrors. Human societies certainly cannot be trusted with the planet, now or at anytime in the past history. They are the head lice. These humans trash cities and move to the suburbs, trash the suburbs and call to revitalize the cities? They have more wants than anything. This is why Republics are better than true democracies, because the people keep voting for free stuff for me, me, me until the snow on the roof collapses the house and none of them bothered to plant the wheat, thus next you have bread lines. What we need is a little environmental personal responsibility and lets start with those making the most noise out there about the issue, then we can move on from there. I hope this article propels thought in 2007.

What is the explanation for the fact that 96 percent of the school shootings have taken place during Clinton (aka Bubba) and George W. Bush’s (aka Dubya) presidency? Let us now consider some possible explanations. As mentioned above, these shootings have taken place during a time period when there was an increase in the number of federal and state laws restricting or eliminating gun ownership. In other words, during the pre Clinton era, there weren't enough gun laws. Yet, in that same Wild West pre Clinton era, there were only two school shootings!

That is to say, during the 215 years (1776 to 1991) of American history, guns were more readily available to our children. One might even say that the previous presidents (especially those evil Republicans) didn't care enough for our children. So then why is it that during the pre Clinton era filled with uncompassionate presidents and loose gun laws, there were only two school shootings? Hmmm? Obviously the explanation for the increase in shootings during Bubba and Dubya's reign is not the lack of gun laws.

Is the explanation to be found in the prevalence of drugs? This can't be right since drugs were readily available and widely used in the 1960s and 1970s. Just ask Clinton. Drugs, whether they are legal or illegal, have been used in America for a long time. Plus, if you count alcohol as a drug, then surely in America's past when its availability was not as highly regulated and the social morality of its use ebbed and flowed, there would have been a good number of school shootings. However, there wasn't.

The only pre Clinton school shootings took place in August 1966 in Austin, Texas, and in July 1976 in Fullerton, California. The decade of the 1980s, according to the liberal media, was the decade of greed. A decade when the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. The decade of Reagan and trickle down economics. So then why wasn't there any school shootings then? Consider well that in the 1990s there have been more Americans investing in the stock market then ever before. Plus, the amount of cash they put into the stock market has been greater than ever before. W hy would they do that kind of investing? If the 1980s were the decade of greed, then why not the 1990s given the above? Why aren't the 1990s considered a decade of extreme greed?

So then let us posit a possible explanation, for discussion, that the cause of the school shootings in the Clinton era (which takes up most of the 1990s) was due to greed. If this explanation were true, then we have to ask what quantum of greed was necessary to cause only two school shootings prior to his presidency? Next, how much more greed was present in America during Clinton's presidency in order to cause twenty eight school shootings? How much greed is present in America as a direct result of Dubya? Why was there such a tremendous increase in greed during Clinton's presidency over all other president's combined? Plus, why did the greed factor go down in 1995? That was the only year of his presidency in which there were no school shootings.

Additionally, how could greed possibly be the explanation since the 1990s are not a decade of greed? If it is a decade of greed (even though the media and the Democrats are not claiming it to be) then why in the world would th
