There have been times where it has been a physical pain to not choose darkness. Somebody hurts me, does not do what I want, is mean to another and I witness the abuse, something in me wants to jump up and retaliate, get even, hurt back. I know that if I give in to it, the power of the darkness grows and I add to the dark element in mass consciousness.
I have literally had to force myself sometimes to just be quiet and still and not lash out. There is where I can do the most damage. If I am able to weather the storm, amazing shifts naturally occur.
The light side, rising above the ego often entails that we see beyond what’s there. Seeing past an abrasive personality to the true essence that is there… the light that is within us all but is sometimes buried quite deeply.
Coming from love and kindness, especially when your heart wants to close down, serves to strengthen your ability to choose the light.

Many times the outcome is determined by where I am choosing to place my attention. Am I down in the mire and the muck, stirring it up and making a muddier mess? Or, is my attention and intention on looking for the positive, the benefits, the opportunity for growth… solutions? Whichever one I decide to focus on, is going to grow.
If you find yourself being self-absorbed, worried, lost in your own problems, take your attention off of yourself. Find something outside of yourself to be interested in.
It is probably the last thing that you want to do, but think of a way to help someone else. Is there something that you can do to make somebody else’s life easier today? Do it. Is there someone whose life could use a little encouragement or compassion. Offer it.
It is wonderful what can happen when you stop feeding that darkness and put more energy into creating a world of light. Having that intention is in itself very powerful.
Don’t forget to throw a little of that loving attention your own way. What can you do to appreciate the wonderful person you truly are? What can you do to feed your spirit?
