Psychopathic Personality: The Absence of Conscience
We are all familiar with the likes of, John Wayne Gacy, Gary Gilmore, Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ted Bundy; to name a few. These individuals are deadly social preditors better known as psychopaths whose glaring lack of conscience is made abundantly clear in popular books and movies. These psychopaths are the ghost of our daily lives at the office, at home, and in our relationships.
Psychopaths have been around for a very long time and can be found in every race, culture, society, and every walk of life. At one time or another everyone has met these social predator, many of us been deceived and manipulated by them, and compelled share our lives with or repair the damage they left behind. Psychopaths are often charming, but always deadly; their goal is self-gratification at the other person's expense.
Many psychopaths are criminals, but many others manage to remain out of prison. Like the social predators they are; psychopaths use their charm and chameleon-like coloration to charm they way through society, leaving many ruined lives behind.
