LEDs ...The Technology That Will Soon Light Our Planet

With the inception of the first electric light source, we could not envision an advanced technology such as the LED, but it has now finally arived and is rapidly reaping its dominance.

The Improved Ion Engine

We may now be able to fly to any planet in the solar system and beyond. This is all due to the invention of the new Ion engine.

The Flat Cosmos

Science strives to explain the universe through observation and analysis. It does this by examining, probing and analyzing the things that can be observed in the cosmos. But what about those things that we may not be able to observe? What if there is more to this macrocosm we call home than meets the eye?

Accelerating Active Academic Research

All too often important scientific work is shut down due to lack of funding and often that information is not made available to the scientific community because it is not fully proven yet and those working on the project want to hold onto the discoveries up to that point until future funds can be secured.

Naturally Occurring Nanoparticles: The Hidden Dimension

Nano-size particles, so small that they no longer exhibit signature elemental properties are commonly investigated, altered, and used for industrial purposes. Do such nano-size particles commonly exist in naturally occuring geologic materials?

Sun Sational Energy

Quartz Clocks and Atomic Clocks

Quartz Clocks and Atomic Clocks - always save the best for last

Why?

Honestly, I am sick to death of the eternal squabbling between science and religion. Religion is a methodology that has been constructed to enable humans to understand their place in the universe. Science is a methodology that has been constructed to enable humans to understand their place in the universe. There are similarities in the limitations of both systems of thought. In some sense, science and religion are the same. In my opinion, the most important discovery in science is that there are things that we cannot ever know about the universe.

Reversing Mother Nature-Part One

We talked to North America’s leading In Situ Leach (ISL) uranium mining engineers, and had them explain exactly how ISL worked. Most of the significant ISL operations in the United States were designed and/or constructed by these engineers. They explained how ISL mining is really just reversing the process of Mother Nature.

Article is a pretty accurate picture of the ways in which our world society is trying to find solutions to our ever decreasing fossil fuel sources.

Very Rare Saur Fossils From Permian

German fossil trader Ernst Probst sells wonderful saurs.

How Do Insects Really Fly

For centuries many scientists and thinkers have tried to figure out how insects fly. They are quite maneuverable and many do quite well considering the controls on an aircraft. Recently in the study of swarms the question has been raised; when a whole bunch of insects get together in a swarm

Silk - A Hard Job For Everyone
