Alcoholism and Drug Addiction-Change to Recovery
The ‘Once an addict always an addict and Relapse is a Part of Recovery’ paradigm has crippled and doomed many people to a life of struggle and self-deprecation throughout the world. “You are not an alcoholic or an addict. Alcohol Treatments
In treating alcohol dependence, different programs and different approaches have been formulated to address drinking problems. Some of these treatments include motivation enhancement therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and the12-step facilitation therapy. Each type of treatment has varied success depending on the history of alcohol dependence of the person or the patient’s personality. However, modifications of treatments, which may mean combining some aspects of these different types of treatment, can be done, and this is also applicable to how these programs of treatment are delivered. One of the aspects that have often been modified is the duration of the rehabilitation program because some programs have been modified so that people’s rehabilitation are “fast-tracked” in cases wherein there is a need for the patient to be on his feet at the soonest possible time.

Alcohol Treatment Centers
Alcoholism is a disease that needs immediate and effective treatment because the longer a person is addicted, the more chronic the disease will become and the use of inappropriate treatment increases the chances of relapse. Given this, there is a need for rehabilitation centers to employ proven and effective methods at rehabilitation. However, given that the ultimate objective of these treatment centers is long-term sobriety, there is a need to examine and assess the effectiveness of their programs in the long term. The information from these assessments can be very helpful to the personnel of rehabilitation centers because they would be able to address and gaps that they may find in their programs.
